Questions
What counts as a server?
Any machine Dekota deploys to: a VPS, a dedicated server or a computer you run yourself. The machine that runs the console does not count, and on Dekota Cloud we run that one.
Can I move between plans?
That is the plan. Your servers and apps would stay where they are, and moving from Community to Cloud would mean pointing your servers at the hosted console. The hosted plans are not built yet, so we will confirm exactly how moving works before they open.
Is the Community edition limited?
It has every deploy feature: apps, databases, services, preview deployments, domains, teams, logs and the API, with no limit on servers, apps or people. Single sign-on with SAML and the audit log are Enterprise features. The paid plans add hosting and support.
What does the £9 for Dekota Managed include?
The hosted console and our work on your servers: setting them up, patching them and watching them. The servers themselves are billed by what they use. We will publish the compute prices before the plan opens.
Where is my data kept?
On the servers that run your apps: yours on Community and Dekota Cloud, ours in the region you choose on Dekota Managed. On Dekota Cloud, the console will keep only its settings and your deployment history.
When will the hosted plans open?
We are building the hosted console and server provisioning now. People on the list hear first, and we will not take payment before a plan is ready.
